Music has always been the steady pulse underlying every chapter of my life, a deep-seated passion that truly took root when I picked up the guitar and began recording my own songs back when I was just fifteen years old. Over the years, that relationship with my instrument has only deepened, evolving from teenage exploration into the driving creative force behind my album, Big Mouth Small Town. For me, the guitar isn't just a tool for entertainment—it's a sanctuary and a mirror. When I create, I intentionally steer clear of the sterile trap of perfectionism, choosing instead to chase raw, unfiltered authenticity. I believe the magic of a song lives in its honest edges, its human vulnerabilities, and the genuine emotion poured into the strings, rather than a flawless, over-polished studio edit. Big Mouth Small Town captures that exact spirit: it's an honest reflection of my journey, a testament to decades of a dedicated love affair with music, and a collection of songs that value real, heartfelt connection over commercial precision.

Big Mouth Small Town is deeply special to me because it isn’t just an album—it’s a living timeline, a collection of songs and stories carefully gathered and written over the span of many years. To truly capture the full spectrum of that journey, I decided to weave spoken word pieces right alongside the music, allowing the raw poetry of the spoken voice to ground the tracks and add another layer of vulnerability. This entire project has been an absolute labor of love, but it’s also a powerful testament to the incredible era we live in as creators. Today, there has never been a better time to make art. We literally have at our fingertips the kind of recording power, tools, and global reach that independent musicians of the past would have had to work, wait, and sacrifice for years just to access. Being able to independently channel decades of personal evolution, guitar work, and spoken word into a complete, professional record right from my own space is a beautiful reminder that the walls are down—and the only thing left to do is create with total, unapologetic authenticity.

Music isn't just something I do; it is the very environment I was raised in, woven tightly into the fabric of my earliest memories. I grew up immersed in a profoundly musical family where rhythm and melody were our native tongue—my dad is a musician, my mum shares that exact same deep, foundational love for the art, and my sister spent my childhood curating the soundtracks to my life through thoughtfully crafted mixtapes. That shared creative bloodline even led me to start my very first band alongside my twin brother, anchoring music as a collaborative, familial bond from the very beginning. For me, music has always been the ultimate escape and a sacred sanctuary. Long before I knew how to articulate my deepest thoughts with spoken words, notes and chords were my primary communication. It exists entirely in the realm of pure feeling, bypassing the limitations of ordinary speech to act as my first true language—the one I use to understand the world and, ultimately, myself.
