There is a raw, unfiltered honesty that comes alive when a voice hits a microphone in Panama City.  Created by Nicky Sunflower and other local writer and poet Britt Matthews, this is a dedicated space for our local spoken word artists, poets, and storytellers—the ones who turn personal truth, shared trauma, and everyday beauty into rhythm. From underground open mics to intentional writing circles, this is where we document the words that shape our community. No filters, no holding back—just human stories bouncing off the walls of local rooms, keeping our creative culture alive and completely real.

We are always looking for more readers and if you're wondering how our nights actually run it all kicks off with Nicky Sunflower hosting the evening and stepping up to the mic to share a few poems in between sets to keep the energy moving, and for the first hour of the night we turn the spotlight over to our featured poets who each get a solid ten minutes to really dive deep into their work and share their stories, then we take a quick intermission so everyone can grab a drink, stretch their legs, and chat before we dive straight into the second half of the night which is our open mic section where the floor is completely open to anyone who wants to sign up and share one or two short pieces of their own, so whether you want to feature or just try out some raw new words on the fly there is a spot for you!
